2020 NCA Graduation Ceremony

by Amy Frazier | Jun 12, 2020

We are now officially into our well-earned school break! But before we move on to all things summer, we want to take a moment to remember the most unique graduation ceremony of our school’s history to date. Last week, New Community graduated three seniors in our first ever “drive-in” graduation ceremony in keeping with Los Angeles County COVID-19 safety guidelines for social distancing. We had about 30 vehicles filled with many cheering and honking masked fans in attendance in the Purpose Church Pomona parking lot. Parents, siblings, friends, loved ones, teachers, donors, and pastors all joined together to honor the hard work our graduates put in to get to this remarkable milestone and to send them into the world with a godly blessing and message from both High School Pastor Eric Holmstrom and Senior Pastor Glenn Gunderson.

We are so excited for our graduates, who are each going on to pursue higher education after high school. Two of our graduates, Trinity and Evelyn (Hazel), will be attending Cal Baptist University together in the fall and have both received generous merit scholarships. Larry will be attending Chaffey College in the spring semester after taking some time to serve in ministry. We are beyond proud of the hard work of these students during their years at New Community Academy and will miss them greatly. We know God has awesome plans ahead for these dedicated young adults!
